Fun game! Inspired by the old web game N and N+ maybe? Pretty good movement! I would say sometimes pressing the slide button would make me crouch and stop all my momentum which was a little annoying but I had enough fun to grind until I topped the leaderboard so you must have done something right :)
Tbh, after getting in contact with the artist, he told me about the idea of losing control in a 2D platformer and after a bit of coding I got inspired by the game Speedrunners (it's on steam if you wanna check it out).
You crouch instead of sliding when the slide is on cooldown (it's like 0.5 or 0.25 seconds long). I did this otherwise it'd be waaaaay too easy to gain momentum and sliding would be overpowered.
